Join us for a teachable, terrifying day of films and discussion celebrating the Frankenstein franchise. When Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley published Frankenstein in the early 19th century, she struck a nerve in a modern world discomfited by emerging technology. That uncertainty is with us today — as dramatized in two centuries’ worth of dystopian and techno-horror works of fiction and film. The Frankenstein movie tradition is a glorious one — gloriously provocative, gloriously poignant, and sometimes gloriously ridiculous. This event promises to hit every one of these notes as we join a fascinating cultural conversation.
