Where and When: Alumni Auditorium; Nov. 7, 7 p.m.; Nov. 12, 4:30 p.m. FREE!

A service learning project focused on the genocide in the Congo is the inspiration behind two screenings of the short film “Crisis in the Congo” as part of a weeklong awareness campaign at Champlain College.     View trailer below.

“Crisis in the Congo” week provides students — especially students in the third-year Core courses on human rights — a meaningful opportunity to explore such issues as genocide, violence against women, and how illegally extracted minerals from the Congo find their way into electronic products.

At the end of the screening, event organizers will facilitate a Q & A session as well as pass around a petition to name Champlain College an institution that is part of the Conflict-Free Campus Initiative.
