Reel Injun

The screening of this award-winning film will be followed by a question-and-answer period with adjunct professor Melody Walker Brook, a member of the Elnu Abenaki Band in Southern Vermont and former Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs council member. Melody is also a member of the Champlain College staff! During the program you will delve deeper into the main issue of the film – identity and what that means for all groups of people. How does one negotiate the pressure from society and images of the “other” while at the same time maintaining the right to define your own identity?
