Steve will serve gumbo or jambalaya! (He says he’ll also do his best to offer something vegetarian.)

Join Dr. Steve Wehmeyer for a special presentation of his reserach on African American vernacular carnival processions and other forms of expressive culture in New Orleans. With Ash Wednesday coming up, he cordially invites you to raise our own roof a little bit on the day before. The lunchtime presentation will feature a slightly “kicked-up” version of a presentation he has bee preparing for a community event at Wake Robin later in the week, Creole cuisine, and conversation about some of the deeper secrets of New Orleans Carnival culture…   Faculty, Staff and Students are all more than welcome!
